Take a three-minute video tour of Itten Dojo, at https://youtu.be/gRbJU2x6JDg .  Our facility has three main areas: the entrance with visitor’s seating and a tokonoma (an alcove for display of ikebana flower arrangements and kakemono hanging scrolls); the primary training area with our integrated floating floor and mat (the most sophisticated mat system in the area); and the auxiliary training area with hardwood floor, with access to the dressing rooms and office. Both training areas are video conferencing capable, so that we can attend remote classes with our instructor and/or offer online instruction from here. #ittendojo #iaido #jujutsu #kenjutsu #shodo

The December edition of Sword and Spirit has been posted. In “Toy Swordsmen?” Itten Dojo chief instructor Robert Wolfe tackles the question of whether training primarily with an iaito (a blunt, alloy-bladed substitute for a katana) is inferior to training with a shinken (a “live sword” — a sharpened, steel blade). Download the newsletter by joining the Sword and Spirit group on Facebook, or directly from our website, at https://www.ittendojo.org/dbfiles/download/swordandspirit/pdf/74. All back issues of Sword and Spirit are available at https://www.ittendojo.org/articles/swordandspirit. #ittendojo #japanesemartialartscenter #iaido #jujutsu #kenjutsu #shodo
